The story of "The Photographer Diaries - Friday 28/3"

Mini Studio - Amrufm

7am: Bangun pagi. Subuh gajah....mandi dan menghadap komputer...siapkan kerja2 yg terbengkalai malam tadi. Gerak ke bank & TNB setelkan beberapa urusan spt bayar bill.

Mini Studio - Dino

Tengok jam dah 12.45pm oooo dah kena gerak ke Masjid Syakirin for Solat Jumaat.

Mini Studio - Honey

1.15pm: Masjid Asy Syakirin KLCC sangat penuh dan banyak orang. Solat Jumaat dan balik ke Suria KLCC. Got time to burn...so pergi ke TGV. Buy 1 ticket for 10,000 BC. Lagi 5 minit aje..so masuk terus. Cerita dia quite ok. Tapi cliched sangat dengan part prophecy...macm matrix, Lotr, Star wars etc.....

Mini Studio - Bobkhanzab

5pm: Gerak ke Plaza Low Yat. Beli graphic card baru dan card reader (total RM270). On the way balik Shah Alam singgah di J.One (Kedai Kamera di Amcorp Mall). Hantar Lens Sigma yg dah diinfect dengan fungus (kena RM180 for the cleaning - which gonna takes 2 weeks). Pay downpayment for a new SB800.

Mini Studio - Lyn

Mini Studio - Fariz

9.30pm: TT Shah Alam yang ke 12 bermula. Lebih kurang 70++ orang attend. Mini Studio ku adalah success! Tengok aje lah hasilnya.....sempat jugak berborak dengan Ian, Jidin, Abang Meredzone, Adhadi, Freak, Zayd, Shahroll, Anis. Banyak lagi yg tak sempat berborak panjang sebab terlampau busy dengan studio. Gerak balik jam 1.30 pagi.

Mini Studio - Natasce

1.45: Check forum, email, flickr. edit gambar2 sikit. Masuk tidur...penat sungguh. Esok takde job apa-apa. So boleh sambung editing gambar dan tidurrr. Graphic card pun esok ajelah install. Pastu boleh layan Counter Strike...wahahaha

Mini Studio - Ninjad08

Line clear punya pasal no problem....anytime...wahahahaha
Model memang la hensem....kehkehkeh...tuan tanah fotopages tu...mesti la gambaq kasi besaq..wahahaha

TUnggu aku pi penang nooo. PS takde pun member kau tu call....

The story of "A day in a photographer's life"

Faizal & Mas. Sneak Peek of their outdoor session.

Quote:
+ Flexi working time. Can go out anytime. Can sleep longer. Can read all my favorite comics. Can listened to music while working. Can surf without restriction (no more pesky network admin!).

+ I'm able to work in my kain sarung/shorts and t-shirts (only at home). For shooting, a smart pants and shirt will do the trick. For non-formal shoot, jeans and t-shirts is ok.

+ Surfing for nothing in particular (oftentime deviating from what i'm supposed to do) can be considered "research for future work" hahahaha

+ Possible unlimited source of income. But there's a limit on what you can do in a month. An income of RM4K is not unheard of. RM10K is achievable.

+ More time for family and friends.

+ It's cool to introduce myself (while handling my ultra-cool name card) "My name is Amru. I'm a full-time photographer. Nice to meet you" Cool seh!

+ You get to hang around with cool people. Including newlyweds. happy people i may say.

Quote:
- Irregular salary. Delayed sometimes. Some months are just plain barren. Time to tighten your belt and reduce your spending.

- Photographic equipments & Computer/Laptop & Training costs a bomb! But by investing your constantly raising up the bar of quality you give back through your work.

- Weekends are constantly full with work or work related activity, But I couldn't complain though, I love my job.

- You have to live with the dreaded word of all wedding photographer: "Bagi la diskaun bang....."

Amrufm the skema photographer. (Pergi shoot wedding pakai baju kerja dia dulu-dulu)

Quote:
What I've been doing for the past 1 week?

+ Shooting a corporate profile for an engineering company.
+ Shooting a reunion dinner
+ Delivering 5 albums
+ Trying to sell of my D50 + SB600
+ Raising enough money to buy a D80 + SB800
+ Finishing all my editing work that need to be completed.
+ Seeing several potential customers. Closing several deals.
+ Enough sleep of at least 5 hours a day. Sometimes I add up an hour or 2 during my afternoon siesta.
+ Start my diet programme. Its been nearly 1 1/2 weeks now. And I feel great!
+ Clean up my room. (But it only last for 2 days. Its as dirty as before).
+ Buy airplane tickets for July's holiday (To Kuching! Rm143 for 2 way ticket....cheap!)
+ Finish watching Rocky 1-2 & Rambo 1-2.

More ramblings later guys. I wanna catch some sleep now. And back to filling picstures into the damn sticky albums. My back hurts doing that! Ciao

@Fathinz Nasib baik la aku dah abis degree & diploma.....hehehe

@Yana Of course that's true. I couldn't agree more

The story of "Ahmad Uwais' day out"

Quote:
Ahmad Uwais is a bubbly 1 year + old boy with infectious giggles and big bright eyes. His father is my fellow photographer from Penang Mr Black. During my 2 day working holiday in Penang earlier this month i managed to conduct this outdoor potraiture for him. Just a simple shoot with Uwais, mom and his dad although the parents are a bit shy in front of the camera.

The secret in kids potraiture is playing with ambient light. I did not use any external light source (eg strobes) for this shoot. Just my D80 and a Nikkor 50mm f1.4. Perfect combination. Though it is a bit tiring to zoom in and out using your legs. The beauty of prime lenses are the quality is unsurpassed by zoom lenses. BUt you have to bear with the fixed focal length.

For those interested in studio, outdoor or indoorpotraiture session (Bridal / pre-wedding / family / fashion) can contact me at 017-6803701. Prices starts from RM5** for a 3 hour session. We'll work out something fabulous for you.

The story of "Tina & Syuk - Majlis Sanding"

Quote:

Asyik makan nasi minyak aje...hahahaha.

Apa-apa pun congrats to both of you. Semoga berbahagia selalu.

Full set ada di sini under folder Syuk & Tina.

The story of "Tina & Syuk - Majlis Nikah"

Quote:
The couple pun dah booking amru since september 2007 lagi. Tapi akhirnya diawalkan by 3 months.

Syuk should list in my top 5 of "lelaki yang cultured dan bersopan santun".

The story of "My lovely niece!"

Baby Wafaa', my beautiful niece

I am officially an uncle now. "Ayah Am" is my designated name. Being Terengganu people, uncles are calleh Ayah .... The ....can be filled with a part of their name. My father's calling name is Ayah Din (His real name is Zainal Abidin). But usually the Din is pronounced Ayah Ding.

Wafaa' Binti Muhammad 'Azzam is the first daughter of my big brother 'Azzam and my sis-in-law Kak Long Iman. They were married on the 27th of May 2007 in Jitra. I'm the official (read: Free) photographer of the nikah & reception at Anak Bukit Pas Headquarters.

7th March 2008. 5am
I was at the hotel when i got a call from ayah (around subuh time) telling me Kak Long was in labour. I'm in Alor Star because of Faizal & mastura's wedding on the election day.

8am
Ayah called me saying the baby (still unnamed at that time) were safely delivered. Location -> Bandar Darul Aman. So...quickly take bath and go to the clinic with Faizal, Bo & lukman.

9am
Take some pics of her. So beautiful and serene. Can't see Kak Long since she's sleeping. So off to Padang Besar with the boys. Celebrated her birth by buying myself a Ronaldo home manchester United Shirt (wahahahah! ).

Me shopping hours later (at Padang Besar)

A bit of trivia about baby Wafaa'.
-Dad is a lawyer. Mom is a law graduate. Both from UIAM.
-Both Grandfathers were engineers. With IR title.
-Dad's got 8 siblings. Mom got 7.
-Both dad and mom are firstborn. Wafaa' is the first grandchild for both family.
-Oldest uncle is me (27 years old). Youngest aunty is 2 1/2 years old. With a total of 12 uncles and aunties, she's gonna collect a lot of angpaus during raya.....hehehe
-She's a healthy 3.25 kg baby girl. And her hair is black and quite lebat. Just like uncle Ahmad.

Her granddad (Haji IR Amirudin Hamzah) went for his last round of campaigning after seeing her that morning. He won the Anak Bukit state seat for the third time (with 3000+ votes majority, up from 96 votes in 2004). Several days later, he was announced as a state exco. Rezeki cucu

The story of "Firdaus & Masdiyana Pre-wedding shoot"

Pre-wedding firdaus & mas

Quote:
One of the most sporting couple I've ever met (Apart from Shahrul & Sue - My usual model). They are Hafiz Ismail@ Freakdiver's client for this photoshoot. And since we are doing it on a weekday he asked me whether i would come along as his shooting mate. The rest is history. On the 31st of January, We spend almost 9 hours shooting and moving from location to location. And almost 1500 shots later all 4 of us were exhausted. But the results were marvellous! From an old abandoned flat, to a playground, moving to the KTM Station in KL, to LRT Dang Wangi and inside the trains. We conclude the shooting in Pavilion KL & the Bukit Bintang area.

For the first part, they wear the "super cute t-shirt" and jeans. The second part they changed into a very nice kebaya & baju melayu ensemble.

Masdiyana & Firdaus are gonna get married later this year (which I'm gonna be the official photographer).

For those wanting something different for your pre-wedding shoot, do contact me. We'll work out something for you!

Quote:
A new Kelatelicious restaurant were opened recently in Section 7, Shah Alam (Just near UiTM Back gate). Operated by Surini & Parents with backing from Shahrul's parent, Restoran Molek served authentic Kelantan food such as Nasi Kerabu, Nasi Dagang, Nasi Berlauk and lots more. The restaurant's first day in operation is on 5th of March and friends and family were invited for a free preview of what Molek is offering. nasi Dagang, Nasi Kerabu, Nasi Lemak, Bubur Pulut Hitam, Assorted kuih, Teh Tarik etc. The food was really good (as expected from Aunty Khasiah - Sue's mom that had a 10+ years experience).

The next day, a 50% discount on all items were offered and as a result, the restaurant were full house from morning till midnight (sampai habis bahan nak masak). Good news indeed.

Restoran Molek is located in Section 7 (Behind Esso, near UiTM Back Gate and near Federal Highway). Opening hours morning till 2am.

The story of "Shahrul's 27th Birthday"

Shahrul & Sue in front of the nice cafe/restaurant

Soon to be married Mas & Faizal

Cheesecake from Secret Recipe (Sponsored by Taz)

Bo, Shahrul, Sue & Taz

Quote:
The actual birthday is 24th February but because of our busyness we postponed it to the weekends (1st March). Palate palette is located near No Black Tie near Istana Hotel. Among the atendees were me, Wafi, Masri, Faizal & Mass, Taz, Jazdee, Bo, Shahrul & Sue. We got to sit outside and under the stars. Ambience were nice and cool. The food were not too bad (check the food pics below) but the price is a bit on the high side.

Happy birthday big guy! We all loves you.

Ps: The story of my little mistake.
When i browse through the menu, not wanting to spend much on the food, The Rib Eye Minute Steak listed under the starter/entree section catches my attention. Ordering this to the waiter (it cost RM13 before taxes), he asked me how do I wanted it to be cooked...I say i want Medium Done. When the steak comes to the table, i'm surprised for it to be quite big. My mistake was that i did not clarify with the waiter. Little that i know he mistakenly ordered the Rib Eye Steak (Cost RM48, RM55 after taxes).....The steak was really good and all (just that the absence of sauce/gravy makes it a tad dry). Finally when the bill comes.....hehehehe....just pay lah. Next time please double check what you order to avoid the same mistake. Want to pay RM15 have to pay RM55...wahahahaha

THE Rib Eye that cost RM55 (after taxes)

Chicken boxing. Nice and spicy.

Chicken chop. A staple at any eatery.

lasagne...quite delish
